The Face of the Food Industry is Changing
As the grocery shopping landscape continues to evolve, it’s crucial that food and beverage companies keep up with the changing tide of consumer tastes and shopping habits. According to the U.S. Commerce Department, in 2014 sales in the food and beverage industry grew only 3 percent, down from the previous two years1. Despite overall slowed sales, retails sales of fresh food is the fastest growing department at the supermarket, and represent about 30% of supermarket sales<sup>1</sup>.
